Launch of Customer Service Initiative: AATT Newly Uniformed CSRs

On Tuesday, 15th January 2013, shortly after 10:00 am, Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (the Authority) launched another one of its initiatives geared toward customer satisfaction, as it introduced its newly uniformed Customer Service Representatives.  The launch took place at the VIP Lounge of the Piarco International Airport.

Dayanand Birju, General Manager (Ag.) of the Authority, welcomed the gathering and expressed the significance of Delivering Excellence in Customer Service, which was the theme of the programme.  “As we make every attempt to modernize and elevate our airports to international standards, the Authority realizes the significance of providing excellent customer service. Undoubtedly, one of our prime, current focuses is the service we provide to our public, and we are making every effort to foster and strengthen the relationship we have with them.”

As one of the chief faces of Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, the CSRs would be positioned at all strategic points of the airport to render assistance to the public. Birju noted that the newly uniformed CSRs would now be easily identifiable to anyone on the estate who may require assistance or information.

Chairman of the Airports Authority, Gerald Hadeed continued to express the importance of Customer Service and the assistance that would be provided by the CSRs of the Authority. “Customer Service Representatives will be able to provide flight information, help passengers with processing documentation for travel and assist those who need wheel chair services. They are also trained to provide tourist information and will offer translation services in French and Spanish to visitors,” Hadeed stated.

In addition, Hadeed made mention of the recent improvements at the airports which were geared toward customer satisfaction. “Our flow channel 868 has been established, and it assists with the broadcasting of information pertaining to flight arrivals and departures. We have implemented the use of check-in kiosks, to expedite the traveler’s process of checking-in.”

Hadeed also revealed projects which are developing at the ANR International Airport, in Tobago, making reference to refurbishment works which will begin in a few weeks on the facilities at the international departure and arrivals areas and repairs of the roof of the main terminal building.  Plans have also been made to construct a VIP Lounge and a world class international wing in Tobago.

The feature address was delivered by Verna Johnson, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport. She reiterated the importance of the Airport Authority’s CSRs and the vital role they play in delivering quality service to both the local and international public.

The uniformed CSRs then made their debut as they modeled their outfits in front the gathering who were all pleased with their presentation.

The Authority aims to provide excellent service to its public and will continue its customer-oriented initiatives as it aspires to remain the premier provider of aviation driven business and customer satisfaction in the region.
