Airports Authority Celebrates Indian Arrival Day 2012

Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago presents “Shukriya”, an Exhibition, mounted in the Atrium of the Piarco International Airport and at the A.N.R. Robinson International Airport in celebration of Indian Arrival Day. The exhibition features the history of the arrival of East Indian Indentured labourers to Trinidad and Tobago and runs from May 27th to June 4th 2012.  Shukriya” is the Hindi/Urdu word for ‘Thank you’. The objective of the display is to celebrate the achievements and contributions by the East Indian community to the development of the nation of Trinidad and Tobago.

The Authority also presents live entertainment showcasing Indian cultural artforms and free doubles at the Local Food Court, Piarco International Airport, on Tuesday 29th May 2012, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.

The Authority wishes to thank the Ministry of Arts and Multiculturalism and the Indian High Commission for contributing to the success of the Indian Arrival Day presentation.
