Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT) Hosts Emancipation Day Celebrations
In recognition of Emancipation Day, Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT) hosted a cultural extravaganza at the Local Food Court, located on the compound of the North Terminal, Piarco International Airport.
The public event showcased aspects of Afro-Trinbagonian culture and talent which consisted of poetry, drumming, limbo dancing and music. The AATT Emancipation Day Celebrations climaxed with the results of the Fashion Show. Employees of the Authority were encouraged to participate and come dressed in their best African outfits. Gloria John emerged the winner and was rewarded with a hamper from Sasha Cosmetics and Stetchers.
The audience members, both young and old, greatly appreciated the show. One 88-year-old said that she absolutely enjoyed every moment, and looks forward to future events hosted by the Authority. All attendees were treated to complimentary African delicacies. The Local Food Court also had on sale a grand variety of authentic African dishes. Traditional local cuisine was also available.
