TTCAA CONDUCTS SECURITY EXERCISE AT THE PIARCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AS THE PRIME MINISTER FLIES HOME
The Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago ("Airports Authority") takes this opportunity to clarify the issues surrounding the security exercise which took place on Thursday December 3rd 2015 at the Piarco International Airport.
The Airports Authority wishes to place on record that contrary to what is being reported in the media, this security exercise was initiated and conducted by our regulator the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA) without the prior knowledge of the Airports Authority. TTCAA Regulations mandate that the Airports Authority comply with these security exercises once initiated by the regulator. The TTCAA has since assured the Airports Authority that the exercise was not related to the arrival of the Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Keith Rowley, but was part of routine checks regularly conducted by the TTCAA at the airport.
